  • Failure

    Whenever I travel for work the cameras fail to produce on time video. Almost as soon as I leave they fail to produce anything. You can’t restart them remotely. They become unuseable. What is their purpose? Why buy Yi cameras if they don’t work when away from home. I can use the app to connect and see that the camera is connectable and ping able but still does not produce video.
  • Update forces clips to interrupt camera

    Latest Yi Cam software update causes a huge glitch. When watching a live camera feed any new motion detection clip will immediately interrupt the current stream and cut to motion clip regardless if you want to watch it or not. There seems to be no option to turn this new ‘feature’ off. This completely ruins the experience of watching the live camera and makes the entire system unusable. This exact issue has also happened on a colleagues system as well as mine and appears, from reviews, to be happening to multiple users. Yi has not fixed this yet and it appears they are asking customers to file a report with Yi instead of taking action and fixing their faulty software.

  • Latest Updates Causing “Jumping” to Motion Alerts

    The last two or so updates have made this app unusable! As others have mentioned, if this is a new “feature”, please remove it! Or, give the option to disable. When viewing playback on one camera, the app will automatically “jump” to a different camera that may have received a motion alert. Incredibly frustrating with 5 cameras!!! PLEASE FIX THIS AND REVERT TO THE PREVIOUS METHOD OF OPERATION!!!!
  • Random Jumping to Feeds

    What gives? The last release now has a weird glitch where when I’m using the app, if any camera detects motion, it immediately switches to that recorded motion clip without any intervention on my end. It’s frustrating to say the least and has made the app substantially less user friendly. Please change it back to not switch to any motion feed as they come in. Or at least allow us to toggle off that “feature”.

    These cameras are amazing, especially for the price. The picture comes in super clear, and the night vision works well. You can turn them off and on from the app, and take videos or screen shots from your phone as well. I can yell at my dogs from work. 😆 You don’t have to use an SD card unless you want to record video.

    Whoever thought that adding the “feature” of switching automatically from camera to camera when motion is detected without a way for the user to turn this off does not understand how people use this app and Yi’s cameras. When I open the app and open a specific camera to view I expect that I can continue to view that camera until I decide I don’t want to any longer. Instead, with the latest updates, when I open the app and open a specific camera to view I get to view my desired camera for a few seconds before a leaf blows by another camera so the app automatically switches to the leaf blowing camera, takes 30 seconds to connect, replays the leaf blowing, then leaves me looking at the leaf blowing camera until I have to manually switch back to the camera I wanted to view in the first place. This cycle continues over and over until I close the app in frustration and open Amazon to window shop for cameras by manufacturers other than Yi that would not be so frustrating. The only reason I haven’t actually bought something else yet is that I have 7 Yi cameras set up and I’m hopeful the Yi Home app developers realize what a horrible “feature” they’ve forced down their user’s throats and correct it before Yi camera sales start to plummet. Because if it’s not fixed soon I’ll be leaving negative reviews for the cameras next as they are useless without a decent app to view them on.

    Crashes all the time while I’m not using WiFI. Is this app only support wifi? Can’t even see the camera when I’m outside using my LTE .

    Love the app and camera for security. Would really like to have a louder notification or at least the option to select a loud notification. When I get notifications while we're asleep I never hear them but wake up to find that there were incidents. Could have taken immediate action if it would have woke me up.
  • Broken app

    I use this as a baby monitor for my son, but recent update causes it to randomly jump to different cameras or clips in my house. Please fix ASAP.
