    I’d like to preface this review by saying I’m a fairly fit person, I have to be, I coach cross country at the collegiate level and I have to keep up with my athletes. That being said, you might wonder why I want or need a fitness app since I know how program workouts and do this “stuff” already, but because I do this “stuff” for a living, the last thing I want to do is program it for myself, I’d rather have someone else tell me what to do and not think about it. Enter the BBG program. I thought it would be a nice addition to build a little strength and overall fitness. What I did not expect was for it to totally kick my butt! And I am loving it! I am so pleasantly surprised with how challenging this app is and how conveniently it is set up. I don’t have to think about it and can follow along and get a killer workout. The three 28 min workouts are just short enough but plenty intense to keep you coming back for more.

    I was a little bit skeptical using this application because I already had a gym membership, but I’m in love. For years I’ve tried a variety of workout plans and dieting. The problem is, I get bored easily. I love this app because I have a wide variety of workouts to chose from, some that can be done at the gym or at home, some that can be squeezed in on a time crunch. I can even do yoga with this application. The timer function is great when working out and I love that there is audio guidance so I’m not checking the timer every few minutes. If you use the meal planning portion there are a variety of diets to choose from (considering various restrictions) with simple ingredients and quick cook times.

    I downloaded this app about a month ago, and am reaching the end of my free trial. I personally love the app and it’s probably one of the only times I have stuck to a plan! I feel motivated and ready to tackle my workout. It makes it so much easier since it already plans everything for you. That was my biggest struggle with staying consistent. The only issues I have is the way the app works. First, it would be nice if the app synced well with your Apple Watch. When ever I open the app on the watch, it stops my music and doesn’t match up with the workout on my phone. Not very user friendly for the watch. Second, if it would work better with the watch, then switching between workouts would be easier, but it doesn’t. Therefore I have to make sure to hit the arrow to move onto a new exercise. Third, I wish it would let you choose which exercise you do next. I know the workouts are planned a certain way to get the best results, but when at the gym sometimes the equipment or machine needed for the next exercise is being used. I then either have to stand and wait 5+ minutes or try and find an alternate for the exercise. And fourth, during HIIT workouts it would be awesome if there was a siren of some sort to tell you when to start and stop. Sometimes my husband will join me on HIIT workouts and it’s hard to tell when we start and when we stop. Other than these issues with the actual app, I enjoy the program very much and have even told my sister to download it.

    I love the Kayla app. It has a variety of other types of exercises if I’ve had a long week. The only thing is that it no longer syncs to my phone while I’m doing the workout. It will send info after I’m done that it was complete but it doesn’t go simultaneously anymore
