Mutual - LDS Dating App Details

Mutual is the largest and fastest growing dating app for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS/Mormon)! Mutual is a place where single members of the church can make meaningful connections that lead to real dating. The app was created by BYU grads who know how difficult it can be to meet others with similar interests and standards, especially outside of Provo. Mutual offers features that help you get to know other single Mormons beyond their profile photos, by highlighting information such as mission location, mutual friends, and interests you share in common with potential matches. The Mutual team is committed to upholding the standards of our faith, and making Mutual a genuine and safe place you can trust. Everyone is required to sign in through Facebook to ensure people are who they claim to be, and all profiles get reviewed by one of our team-members before entering our community. We also make it easy to report inappropriate behavior in the app, to maintain a positive environment for everyone. In the words of Brigham Young, "This is the place." MUTUAL UP - MORE FEATURES Upgrade to Mutual Up for access to exclusive new features, including: Ward Hop to change your location and match around the world, Unlimited Double Takes to undo past swipes, Ninja Mode to go invisible to everyone except people you swipe up on, More Filters to filter by height, and Daily Notes to stand out and increase your chance of matching. ------------------- Mutual is free to use, but if you choose to purchase Mutual Up, payment will be charged to your iTunes account, and your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. Auto-renewal may be turned off at any time by going to your settings in the iTunes Store after purchase. • so there's a bug

    By matthews2000
it's a really fun app but there's this really annoying bug. it keeps making me re-type my bio and re-enter my height when i open it. and after i do that it won't show me any profiles or let me see my matches. i've deleted and reinstalled the app four times (this is my fifth) and after about a week the bug starts up again. again, overall it's pretty fun. but this bug kind of ruins it. :/

  • Ok, but has problems

This app is relatively buggy. I keep having an issue where it won’t load photos but instead keeps prompting me to enter my height, over and over and over. You have to delete the app and re-install to correct it. It also cuts off any audio you might be listening to when you open the app...why? There’s no audio in the app. Doesn’t make any sense. I don’t like that you cannot crop photos, you’re limited on how many you can upload which I find makes it more difficult to trust how people look, and I believe is making it more difficult for people to want to take the step of meeting in person. It also doesn’t give you enough room to describe yourself and what you’re looking for. This app isn’t for hook ups. It’s for dating and possibly meeting a spouse. We need more info to go on than just a handful of photos. That being said, I don’t think they do well enough to keep out the creeps. They constantly advertise advertising on the app, but there’s isn’t any. All the advertisements are from Mutual. With all its faults, at least it’s something.
  • Fake Profiles and Scammers

    By Kbymustang
Beware of fake profiles and scammers. I wish Mutual would find a way to verify their users. Found one guy using the same photos with multiple profiles. One scammer asked a favor to purchase a game card for a family member cause his check hasn’t arrived yet. Really?
  • Customer support is meh

    By Debbikens
I have had such a difficult time right out the gate. I am a woman and they had me set as a man. Customer support said I had to pay the $10 for better filters. Wha? I did. Now I can’t get the app to open about 90% of the time. The other 10% is spent typing in my height repeatedly. I’ve contacted support via email a million times (maybe not an exaggeration) with absolutely no response. Dazzle me, Mutual; I’m waiting...
  • Terrible App

    By hdawgdavis
This App has two stars because it’s the only LDS dating app; it connects me with woman in the same faith community, which is what I want. Mutual, please at least make it a pleasant experience. Right now it is really buggy: I get notifications with no message or new match; I don’t get notifications when I have a message; The photo selector zooms in way too much on my photos; You can’t add a line break in the profile text box; Opening the app kills any audio I may be playing; The user interface is dated; When I first started using mutual it was awesome, a knock off of Tinder but filled with church members. Mutual has grown a little since then, by adding a worldwide feature and adding tags (maybe tinder has that, it’s been a while since I have used tinder), but Mutual needs to grow and adapt to its user base. It was interesting and a ok idea that matches would disappear after a week, but now it is limiting and prevents matches. What if I am having a really good conversation with someone and want to not have to keep messaging others just so the profile isn’t erased from my view. Also dissappearing profiles lends itself to weak and uninteresting opening messages, ie “hey”; There are many more things that I have not enjoyed and would have left this community ages ago had it not been the monopoly on the user base. If another Mormon dating app shows up I bet there will be a mass exodus to the new one. Dev’s feel free to reach out to me because I want to use an app that “works” and helps it’s users get dates
  • After a while, it breaks.

    By 1212disappointed
This app used to work great! And then it started showing me men in the queue. And then it started matching me with those men when I SWIPED DOWN. I was then also matched with women who I swiped down on or who I had never seen in the queue. All in all this app has some very apparent bugs that the team just cannot seem to correct. I hope they do though.
  • Won’t load

    By Birrellll
Every time I open it, it asks me to put in my height. Then it says I’ve run out of people and just sits there spinning. I’ve hardly ever used it and now it’s unusable.
