  • Best sports writing around right now

    By The Pickleman
The Athletic has the best writers and coverage of all the digital media properties out there right now. It’s a must read daily. Keep up the good work. And if Sports Illustrated is for sale........
  • App is incredible.. but one request

    By MichaelPJ78
Love what the athletic brings me.. great analysis. But I do have one request.. can we not streamline the process of clicking on a link on twitter and going straight to the app or at least allow people to read the article inside the twitter app? Every time I open an article on twitter I have to click the link then go to the App Store and hit “open” and by the time the app opens I have to find the article myself because it just opens to the rundown of recent articles instead of the specific article I wanted. Very frustrating. Bridge the gap for me. Five stars anyways.
  • Finally a sports page app for junkies

    By McMurtry Fan
The technical breakdowns are great. I love it!
  • It’s pretty good but what makes it terrible is...

    By vincent vitelli
It’s terrible because you have limited articles! That’s stupid. I’m staying with the NFL app. I will delete the “athletic”. 😡😡😡 reply to me please.
  • David Aldridge

Good to have a great talent back writing for the DC market! #LaCheeserie
  • True sports journalism for real fans.

    By Booey87
The Athletic provides the best sports journalism out there. Plain and simple. You get to choose your team and customize your feed. As well, searching for articles, authors, etc. is easy. The app itself is simple and great. With community, rating system, text (size, color) adjustment it provides everything you’d need for reading.
  • Great coverage needs notifications

    By JJacobs88
The quality of writing simply can’t be beat. They provide great coverage for all four of my favorite teams. The app layout is very easy on the eyes and simple to navigate. Well worth the money but, my only wish is for breaking news push notifications such as, trades, contact agreements, injuries etc. ( I often see breaking news other places with The Athletic as the source.)that way I can finally remove the espn app from my phone. Since that’s the only reason I keep it around. Overall I highly recommend this app to anybody who is very passionate about sports and looking for more insight that you just won’t find anywhere else.
  • Great!

    Loving The Athletic!!
  • Buggy with poor customer support

    By dcparke
They have some great writers who really compliment the local paper. But the app and website are crippled by glitchy service and incredibly poor customer support (typical for a start-up that didn’t raise enough money). Won’t bother renewing.
  • Great app, could use improvement

    By Newgy24424
I love using this app, they’ve made a ton of features that work well with a lot of customization when reading. However there needs to be a better way to save articles without opening the article. Force touch shows a preview which you can swipe up to save but that is cumbersome and requires more dexterity. Force touch should only show an option to save-which would make it a lot easier. Also when playing breakdown videos, it pauses my music. There should be an option to play my music over it. Or have my music resume after the clip ends. I have to exit the app to go into my music app to resume playing. Also, often times when I leave the app mid article, when I return minutes later the app refreshes and I’m back at the home screen losing my spot in the article
