App Reviews

  • New app

Hated the new update- thankfully I was able to remove it when I realized how different the format was- the original app was still there-
  • Update not good

    By Mpkoss
I am a regular reader through your app, and this update is terrible. There are very few articles displayed on the home page, then headlines, ads, filler. I want the articles where I can find them. Please go back to the previous layout.
  • Updates changed the best thing!

My favorite part about this app is now so hard to find... I used to love opening up the app and finding the morning newsletter right there. Now I have to scroll a bunch and literally search for it among the other news stories, and some days it isn’t even there (where it mostly pops up, among the “you got a story for us” banner). Can you please please move the morning news batch back to the top of the app? It’s so frustrating to spend minutes scrolling, maybe missing it, scrolling, refreshing, etc.

Can’t access or see the comments users would contribute to articles. Intentional? Definitely :)
  • Horrible battery usage even when iPad is inactive

    By jkp_45
The NYT app drained my battery by running in the background overnight.
  • My NYT

    By Pennditt
The New York Times is where I go for news, opinions, op ed, video, art, books, magazine section and miscellaneous. I could spend the whole day reading it. Tops for editorial page plus Kristoff, Bruni and others.
  • Love it, but one request...

    By eclipse_82
Dark mode for night reading, please!
  • Works great. Can we have a “Night Mode”?

    By Bob's Western Shirt
My only request is a night mode like Washington Post’s app. Makes it much nicer to read.
  • Bad Update

    By cmhartney
I miss the old format! The new one is full of ads and the home page only shows a few stories. Also, what’s going on with the time stamp? I want to know if I have the most updated version when reading.
  • The new format is terrible and unwieldy

    By Yodicken
Terrible change. Scrolling all the way down down to just see headlines is a hassle.
