AnkiMobile Flashcards App Details

AnkiMobile is a mobile companion to Anki, a powerful, intelligent flashcard program that is free, multi-platform, and open-source. Sales of this app support the development of both the computer and mobile version, which is why the app is priced as a computer application. AnkiMobile offers some features not found in other flashcard apps: - A free cloud synchronization service that lets you keep your card content synchronized across multiple mobile and computer devices. This makes it easy to add content on a computer and then study it on your mobile, easily keep your study progress current between an iPhone and iPad, and so on. - The same proven scheduling algorithm that the computer version of Anki uses, which reminds you of material as you're about to forget it. - A flexible interface designed for smooth and efficient study. You can set up AnkiMobile to perform different actions when you tap or swipe on various parts of the screen, and control which actions appear on the tool buttons. - Comprehensive graphs and statistics about your studies. - Support for large card decks - even 100,000+ cards. - If your cards use images or audio clips, the media is stored on your device, so you can study without an internet connection. - A powerful search facility that allows you to find cards that match criteria such as 'tagged high priority, answered in the last ten days and not containing the following words', and automatically place them into a deck to study. - Support for displaying mathematical equations that were added with LaTeX in the desktop software, and ruby text above Asian languages. Please note that AnkiMobile is currently intended as a companion to the computer version of Anki, rather than a complete replacement for it. While AnkiMobile is able to display your cards in the same way the computer version does, certain changes like modifying note types need to be done with the computer software. For this reason, please familiarize yourself with the computer version of Anki before you think about buying this app. Please also note that while you can use almost any language on your cards, AnkiMobile's user interface is only available in English at the moment. Aside from the cloud synchronization service, AnkiMobile also supports copying decks to and from your device via the USB cable and iTunes. Like all apps, AnkiMobile can be purchased once and then used on multiple devices in a household using the same Apple ID. Family sharing is also supported. • Manual Sync Only?

    By HeavyLoader
First off, the app works great for studying. The interface is a little vanilla but that doesn’t bother me. However, the decks do not sync automatically. So if you modify them on one device, say on your Mac, the changes don’t sync until you manually force them to. I create cards on my Mac and study on the go. Each time I use either device I have to remember to sync first. Annoying and not the standard for apps that sync with the database. More than once I forgot and my new cards didn’t get studied. If this was fixed it would be five stars all the way.

Please allow us to change font colors in the next update for this mobile version..
  • Money hungry. Ancient design. Poor features.

    By fishbellyrocks
This app must have been made when the internet came out. For almost $30 I’d expect a state of the art app, but this is an epic failure. Doesn’t sync to desktop without an in-between app. Flash cards are hideous and you can’t control anything about them outside the basic option to view them again after a certain time frame—no swipe feature, ability to organize or randomize them, or switch question/answer sides. Quizlet is free and you can get a way better experience. Not surprisingly, there is no option to contact the developers for a refund. Works class scam artists here.
  • Web functionality is cool but I keep receiving error

    By nasa03
Every time I synchronize it says “Sync Failed” in bold and “Sync successful” right underneath. And none of my progress from my laptop has updated
  • There are no settings

    By Arina Sun
I bought this app thinking that it would have the full functionality of Anki, but there aren’t even settings to change the step duration!!
  • very useful app with very poor data management

    By KeMaiYu
If you buy this app and invest a lot of time building your own dataset within it, be aware, you won’t be able to extract your data from the app. Major fail.
  • More features needed for app

    By Melly's mom
Please include more features on the mobile app. I would like to have the same options available on the app that I have on the desktop version. For example, I can't change the total number of cards I review each day on the app. I have to go to the desktop version to do this. I would love it if you included this in the next update!
  • Great app, but difficult learning curve

    By nicknames are taken great
Not to mention the description does not warn potential buyers that computer access to the Anki site is required for most features, like MathJax.
  • Using anki with a controller?

    By Brbmb
Let me start off by saying I love anki and that I use anki every day. However, I was wondering if it is possible to control the IOS version of anki with an iOS controller like the steel series nimbus. Is this possible?
